This weekend Cambridge hosted the Cubs Classic baseball tournament.  Our association hosted 36 teams and with lots planning and hard work it turned out to be a great success!  Congratulations to our winners.

 Minor A - Milton Mets

 Minor AAA - Kitchener Panthers

 Major A - Milton Mets

 Major AAA - Peterborough Tigers

In order to host a tournament this size there are so many volunteers needed.  Special thanks to our own players coming from the older divisions to help make sure the Rookie Ball players enjoyed their weekend – The Cubs Mosquito teams who looked after the diamonds and the Minor Peewee T1 team for running the concessions.  Without the time and dedication of our baseball community we would not be able to receive fantastic letters like this from other coaches who attended.

“On behalf of the Oshawa Legionaires Minor Rookie team, including our players, coaches, and family members, I would like to sincerely thank you for an outstanding experience this weekend at the Cubs Rookie tournament.

When planning our tournament schedule for the season, we always start with Cambridge because we know that you run exceptional tournaments.  Since this was our team's very first tournament, we wanted something special.  You and your team delivered far beyond our expectations.  Everything was so well-run, the fields were spectacular, the volunteers were warm and welcoming, and without exception the umpiring was top-notch.  Plus the players loved the swag and the skills competition!

Cambridge Baseball sets the bar high, but every time you manage to push it a little higher.  I know that planning and executing a tournament of this size requires a huge amount of time, energy, and stress.  Congratulations to you and everyone on your team for hitting it out of the park.  You were not only amazing ambassadors for the CMBA, but for the City of Cambridge.

All the best with the remainder of your 2018 season.  We look forward to being back in Cambridge around this time next year.

Regards,

Sandy Bailey
